- Mary Blair
Although way too short, this film brings a certain magic to the relationship between Mary and Walt even though my understanding is that he never attempted to clip her creativity.
Mary Mary Blair is hired to work in Walt Disney’s gigantic and rigorously maintained garden. As he welcomes her and invites her to get to work, she starts producing plants magically. Although he is amazed, Walt cannot refrain from correcting and toning down Mary’s work behind her back… Contact production : GOBELINS, l'école de l'image, Moïra Marguin : email@example.com
Mary Blair was one of Walt Disney's most influential concept artists. Her colourful flair was responsible for many of that studio's signature looks in golden age films such as Peter Pan, Cinderella and Alice In Wonderland.
Her simple imagery belies an incredible eye for color and the ability to present the world in a childlike way. Needless to say she is an inspiration for many conceptual and animation artists currently working in the industry.
You can read more about her in the great book - The Art And Flair of Mary Blair.
